For two weeks in December, ClearSource employees engaged in a successful Penny Wars competition aimed to generate some friendly rivalry between internal programs of the company while collecting charitable donations from the staff. This effort was designed to focus attention towards those who were less fortunate during the holiday season, and the program which collected the most change was deemed the champion while funds raised were ultimately given to those in need.
By the conclusion of the competition, ClearSource agents raised nearly $500 dollars by dropping their spare change in collection jars. The donations were then utilized in a various ways. Each year ClearSource has it’s “Angel Source” tree where the company seeks out the needs of internal employees who may be needing help in one form or another. Items distributed this year included clothes, shoes, and “mechanized mechanisms”. Beyond the Angel Source tree, ClearSource donated proceeds to various charitable causes, including The Road Home, Odyssey House, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“Fittingly, our first company core value is Customer First,” said ClearSource HR Director, Rebecca Morris, “I believe the Penny Wars fund raiser proves that this is a mindset our customer service agents not only display while handling phone calls, emails, or chats, but also in the way they conduct their personal lives.” Morris concluded, “During the holiday season, it’s always refreshing to watch others step up and serve, and I’m proud of the way which our teams engaged in this fun competition. Every year it is very warming to see all the ornaments picked off the Angle Source tree. Our employees truly follow our core values and put each other first.”
Because of the success of this initial installment of Penny Wars, ClearSource is planning for another successful round in December of 2018.
